About

ToneLineage maps the rigs of the players you love — era by era, in signal-chain order — and every piece links to where the claim comes from: Premier Guitar Rig Rundowns, guitar magazines, Wikipedia, artists' and techs' YouTube rig tours, and well-documented fan archives such as Trey's Guitar Rig. Each item is labelled by source type.

Our rules

• No source, no listing. If we can't cite it, it's left out or marked unverified.
• Eras where possible. Rigs change. Eras are tied to a dated snapshot when the source gives one; otherwise they're marked "career" or "undated".
• Clones are editorial. Boutique and budget alternatives are our suggestions, not claims about what the artist uses.
• Prices are estimates. Used ranges are rough estimates until live price data is wired in.
